Yellow Columbine
August 2004: The Yellow Columbine (Aquilegia flavenscens) grows in acid soil on rocky ledges and screes near timberline. When the trail descending from Sentinel Pass leaves the scree and reaches the treeline, mountain meadows and alpine flowers line the path for much of the summer.
