September 2002: The valley of Burstall Creek between Mount Burstall on the south and Commonwealth Peak/Mount Birdwood on the north is flat and boggy. Late season hikers will find drier conditions and fewer mosquitoes. The visible peak is Snow Peak (2789 m).
