Hanging Valley

Hanging Valley
August 2009: The wide u-shaped upper valley is typical of glacier-carved hanging valleys, heading down to the top of a headwall where a larger glacier gouged a deeper valley. This view of the head of the valley offers a glimpse of what may be the summit of Stanley Peak up on the right.
